Es así que el Capitán de Guardia (5), entre el 26 de abril y el 3 de mayo, es el Capitán de la 8ª, Daniel Alarcón, junto al Ayudante de Comandancia, Francisco Núñez (22-B), también octavino. En la guardia médica está la doctora Marcela Díaz, 27-5, Voluntaria Honoraria de la Octava, y el también octavino Jorge Montanares, Ayudante Médico (19-F).
Ellos cumplen una labor loable e importante para el funcionamiento operativo del Cuerpo -como ocurre con todos los Oficiales que efectúan las guardias semanales de la Comandancia- y son un ejemplo del compromiso de la Octava con la Institución.
