Trabajo sobre Incendio en la Iglesia de la Compañía de Jesús.

igcompaniaUn extenso, completo y documentado trabajo titulado «Incendio de la Compañía de Jesús (1863). Antecedentes, desarrollo y consecuencias de la peor tragedia de nuestra historia», realizó la Ayudante 1º de la Octava Compañía de Santiago, Mara Urrutia Pérez.

El texto completo se puede leer en la sección Información Técnica de la página web de la Compañía (www.octavabomberos.cl) y es una contribución valiosa e informada al acontecimiento ocurrido hace más de 145 años en la capital chilena y que dio origen a la fundación del Cuerpo de Bomberos de Santiago.

El trabajo de Mara Urrutia incluye gran cantidad de texto, consulta bibliográfica y dibujos e imágenes.

Está dividido en los capítulos Edificios primitivos de la Orden de Jesús, Primeras Reconstrucciones, Una nueva Iglesia, El primer Incendio en 1841, El trágico Incendio de 1863, Intentos por salvar a las víctimas, Final del catastrófico Incendio, Estimaciones sobre el número de muertos, Reproches y acusaciones, Cunde la idea de una maldición sobre la Iglesia, Reflexiones sobre la obstrucción de las puertas, El factor de desesperación de las víctimas, La creación del Cuerpo de Bomberos de Santiago, La orden de demolición del templo, Ecos diplomáticos de la tragedia, Monumentos a las víctimas del Incendio de la Compañía y Las Jornadas que vinieron.

La labor de la Ayudante 1º se presenta en los días que fueron devueltas las campanas originales de la Iglesia de la Compañía y que una de ellas será entregada para quedar instalada en el Cuartel General del Cuerpo de Bomberos de Santiago.

Un trabajo encomiable de la Ayudante 1º que todo Bomberos y octavino debería leer y que nutre los archivos de historia de la Octava Compañía del Cuerpo de Bomberos de Santiago.-
